Water is every color on the earth and in the sky. It can be the hues of the sunset, a lush green field or the ever changing color of the seasons. Water is smooth like glass, it is rough, wavy or it displays the repetitive lines of a ripple. In an instant it changes texture and becomes a million little circles from the rain or stippled by ice.
This piece was inspired by the artists love for growing up in Perham, the heart of the Minnesota lakes area. It was created with a medium of carved concrete with elements of agates, fossils, fused glass and mosaics. Its design is to encourage interaction and communications among its viewers, both young and old, with over 50 items to seek and find. May you find something that sparks a memory or an emotion. As you discover Perham, Minnesota take the time to enjoy the colors and the textures that surround you.
The mural incorporates over 50 items to seek and find.
Cindee Lundin (Von Ruden) was raised on a dairy farm in Perham, MN. After college in Brainerd she continued her studies in Fine Art at St. Cloud State University. Cindee started a decorative finishing business in 1996 and has become known and commissioned for her work throughout the United States. Although experienced in many art mediums, she prefers concrete because of her love for texture and color it can create both indoors and out. Cindee and her husband, Mark, currently reside in Arizona where she works out of her studio in Tucson.
Assisting on the project is Cindee’s sister, Chenoa Pickrain (Von Ruden). A love of art lead her to a degree in graphic design and eventually a passion with a camera allowed her to open a photo studio, A Candid Moment Photography. She resides just outside of town near their original family farm with her husband, Justin and son.
